The CBC recording of our concert at St. James Hall in November last year is up at the CBC Concerts on Demand page. We're pleased to partner again with the good ol' CBC, and their mobile recording truck and crew did a great job.
If you haven't checked out the Concerts on Demand site, you should - it's a fabulous site with hundreds of Canadian live concerts recorded by the CBC over the last few years.
The concert will also be broadcast on Canada Live on CBC Radio 2, date TBA. |

The newest Breakmen fan was born!! Archie's sweetheart Briar has just delivered Owyn Pateman at their home in Cumberland BC. We think he'll be a piano player. |

The Breakmen have been nominated for an Independent Music Award in the Best Americana Album category for our work on our latest album When You Leave Town.
We could use your help to reel in this award. You can vote on the IMA site.

Hey folks. The Breakmen have just wrapped up a terrific fall tour. CBC Canada Live recorded the St James Hall show on Nov 26th, so be on the lookout for that one on Radio 2. Thanks to all who helped out with each tour date. We are so rich in friends! We had a great opportunity these past few weeks to work up some new material, and since it's all sounding so good we've decided it's time to get into the studio and record our 3rd album. Details soon. |

Hey folks.
The Breakmen have just returned from 5 days in Edmontonwhere we played a concert for the NorthernBluegrass Circle and stuck around to teach their annual bluegrass workshop at Camp He Ho Ha. Great time!! We got to do some hanging with some old friends like Brother Mule from Idaho, Jenny Lester from Smithers, Steve Fisher of Alberta, as well as making some new friends from Denver, the Blue Canyon Boys. Sweet late night harmony singing, swapping songs and good times.
Upon returning we got some wonderful news.We have beennominatedfor 2 CFMAs(Canadian Folk Music Awards): VocalGroup of the Year and New/Emerging Artist of the Year. Ain't that something??
In other news, we are gearing up for our late fall BC/AB tour. We're going to be hitting the road with stops including Calgary, Fernie, Osoyoos, Nelson and Vancouver Island. Keep an eye on our tour page for the show nearest you, some are announced already and more to come.
For gods sake people please remember: THE BREAKMEN LOVE YOU.

Greetings all! Happy fall.
Well we had a great summer of folk festivals and concerts, saw and played with friends new and old.
We finished off the summer teaching at the BC Bluegrass Workshops in Sorrento BC, where we spent a week at the base of a mountain on fire. Every day the 1500 hectare fire crept closer and closer down the mountain, making for spectacular night-time fire shows and days full of choking smoke. At one point we were all on one-hour evacuation notice. Very dramatic. We'll try and get some pictures up - never experienced anything like it.
To all our friends in BC and Alberta - hope to see you on the road in November, we're putting together a fall tour of the province. Dates to be announced soon.
Take care, everyone!

Our own Lee Watson has just released his new solo CD, entitled Northern Track.
It's a fine disc of new Watson originals - instant classic bluegrass songs with just a touch of vintage country. The record is full of performances by some very fine players, and it's been accumulating rave reviews already.
Check out the details at leewatsonmusic.com, where you can also order one for yourself.
